Fitzroy Crossing, WA, Australia (2008)

Fitzroy Crossing is a small town in the Kimberley region of  Western Australia, 400 km east of Broome,  300 km west of Halls Creek and approximately 2,500 km north of Perth. (Wikipedia)

This mural was on the side of Tarunda, the supermarket and post office building in the heart of town. It was painted by Mervyn Street, a local Gooniyandi man who grew up working as a drover on Louisa Downs Station. He is also a celebrated artist. Ref: smh.com.au

In July 2009, the supermarket (together with mural) was destroyed by fire.
